*Classes by Gainor are taught at Carrollwood Cultural Center, Tampa, Florida, on a 6 week rotating basis throughout the year. (perspective and proportion) We work with pencils but students are encouraged to investigate other drawing media; ink, silverpoint, charcoal.

learn how to mix colors to make grays and to tint and shade colors. Hands on color mixing in class!

In art, design separates the good from the best!

Learn the elements of design: line, shape, direction, size, scale, texture, color, value, rhythm, etc. We will examine how some of the famous artists used the rule of thirds, rabatment, and the Golden Ratio.


USING PHOTOGRAPHY TO ENHANCE YOUR ART (3 weeks)

Take better photographs for your paintings and learn how to edit them into appropriate compositions. Then find out how to make a clear plastic overlay to transfer the photograph to the canvas, and how to use that overlay to check the accuracy of your work.
